On Friday, 11 April 2014, in the evening at 21:36, in Šakių district municipality, Lekėčių eldership, on the Lekėčiai–Pavilkijys regional road (kilometre 5.93), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Isuzu Trooper and a Seat Alhambra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Isuzu, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
