Scania truck and two other cars crash on the Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai road
On Wednesday, 14 May 2014, in the evening at 17:39, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai main road (kilometre 22.90), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Scania R 480 registered in Estonia, a Pacton 3139 N0R18 and a Nissan Note. Two people were injured — a 43-year-old passenger of the Nissan (treated as an outpatient) and the 39-year-old driver of the Nissan (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Scania (a citizen of Estonia) (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet.
