On Saturday, 16 August 2014, in the evening at 18:05, in Švenčionių district municipality, on the Ceikiniai–Velykamiškis–Šventa regional road (kilometre 5.40), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 626 and an Audi 80. Two people were injured — the 20-year-old driver of the Mazda (hospitalized) and a 42-year-old passenger of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Mazda (2 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober.
