Volvo V70 hits pedestrians at a crossing on J. Biliūno street, Anykščiai
On Saturday, 18 February 2017, in the evening at 18:46, in Anykščių district municipality, on J. Biliūno street near No. 17, a Volvo V70 hit two pedestrians at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 49-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized) and a 41-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Volvo (1 year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. A 49-year-old pedestrian was drunk (1.02‰). A 41-year-old pedestrian was drunk (2.26‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
