Drunk Volkswagen driver hits a pedestrian at Putinų and Pramonės streets, Alytus
On Tuesday, 27 February 2018, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Alytus, on Putinų street, at the junction with Pramonės street, a Volkswagen Jetta hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 71-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (24 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (3.30‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
