Hit-and-run Mercedes-Benz driver and Toyota crash on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Friday, 13 July 2018, in the afternoon at 16:10, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 83), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz Classe E and a Toyota Auris. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (18 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
