Drunk, unlicensed Volvo V70 driver hits a pedestrian in Ąžuolijos village
On Friday, 13 July 2018, in the afternoon at 15:30, in Šilalės district municipality, Ąžuolijos village, a Volvo V70 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 59-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Volvo. He was drunk (2.39‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
