Drunk, unlicensed driver runs off the road on Dariaus ir Girėno street, Kalvarija
On Saturday, 28 July 2018, at night at 2:50, in Kalvarijos municipality, on Dariaus ir Girėno street near No. 1A, an Audi A4 ran off the road. Four people were injured — the 21-year-old driver of the Audi (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt), a 26-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt), a 28-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 18-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.15‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
