On Saturday, 13 October 2018, in the evening at 17:18, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Mataičių village, on Klevų street near No. 16, a Toyota Corolla hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 46-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Toyota (33 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He was drunk.
