Nissan Almera hits pedestrians at a crossing on Žirmūnų street, Vilnius

On Tuesday, 28 May 2019, in the morning at 10:14, in Vilnius, on Žirmūnų street near No. 139, a Nissan Almera hit two pedestrians at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 24-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 24-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 80-year-old driver of the Nissan (35 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
