Unlicensed Audi driver and two other cars crash on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda road
On Tuesday, 6 February 2024, in the evening at 19:30, in Jurbarko district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 92.80), a collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80, a vehicle and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Audi, who violated vehicle-towing rules. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
