On Tuesday, 1 January 2013, in the evening at 17:04, in Vilnius, on Laisvės avenue, at the junction with Pilaitės avenue, an Audi A4 hit two pedestrians away from any crossing. Two people were injured — a 47-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 67-year-old pedestrian (a citizen of Italy) (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Audi (9 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (2.31‰ blood alcohol).
