On Monday, 18 February 2013, in the morning at 10:20, in Pagėgių municipality, Anužių village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 152.40), a Hyundai Accent hit three pedestrians. Three people were injured — a 51-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized), a 57-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized) and a 58-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Hyundai (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
