BMW and two other cars crash on the Vilnius–Panevėžys road
On Sunday, 3 March 2013, in the evening at 17:23, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 34.17), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 316, an Audi A4 and a Volkswagen Golf. Three people were injured — the 23-year-old driver of the Audi (treated as an outpatient), a 32-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and a 1-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, there was a blizzard, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
