Drunk Volvo driver and Volkswagen crash at Žemaičių highway and Žaibo street, Kaunas
On Sunday, 1 December 2013, at night at 1:10, in Kaunas, on Žemaičių highway near No. 11, at the junction with Žaibo street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volvo 850 and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volvo (3 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (1.76‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
