On Saturday, 25 October 2014, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Šilutės district municipality, Stremenių village, on the Galzdonai–Usėnai–Degučiai regional road (kilometre 12.58), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz registered in Great Britain and a Renault Laguna. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
