On Tuesday, 21 July 2015, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Vilnius, on Verkių street near No. 1, a BMW hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 75-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the BMW (24 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
