Mercedes-Benz truck hits a parked Volkswagen on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Tuesday, 19 April 2016, in the afternoon at 11:25, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 280), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz Actros 1844 LS registered in Russia, a Tauras 1300-01, a Schmitz Cargobull and a Volkswagen Caddy. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober.
