Opel hits a pedestrian at a crossing at Nepriklausomybės and J. Basanavičiaus streets, Šilalė
On Friday, 1 July 2016, in the morning at around 10:00, in Šilalės district municipality, on Nepriklausomybės street, at the junction with J. Basanavičiaus street, an Opel Zafira hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 73-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 67-year-old driver of the Opel (30 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
