Drunk Mercedes-Benz driver hits a parked Volvo on the Šiauliai–Palanga road
On Friday, 13 October 2017, in the evening at 20:40, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 3), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz, a Volvo S60 and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (22 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.25‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
