On Friday, 4 May 2018, in the afternoon at 16:17, in Plungės district municipality, on the Truikiai–Babrungėnai regional road (kilometre 7.01), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Renault Megane Scenic and a BMW 730. One person was injured — the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Renault (19 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
