On Monday, 15 July 2024, in the afternoon at 15:06, in Plungės district municipality, Babrungėnų village, on Platelių street, an Opel Astra hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Opel (26 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (2.23‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
