On Sunday, 9 September 2018, at night at 4:11, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 80.73), a Mercedes-Benz ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (13 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
