Drunk driver's BMW rolls over in Švenčionių district

On Saturday, 27 October 2018, at night at 0:16, in Švenčionių district municipality, on the Kiti keliai local road (kilometre 0.68), a BMW 525 rolled over. One person died — a 19-year-old passenger of the BMW (was not wearing a seatbelt). One person was injured — a 17-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by a 23-year-old passenger of the BMW, who committed traffic rule violations that contributed to the accident. He was drunk. A 17-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (0.88‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
