Hit-and-run Mercedes-Benz driver runs off the road on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas road
On Thursday, 3 January 2019, in the afternoon at 14:28, in Vilniaus city municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 17.50), a Mercedes-Benz CLK 200 Kompressor ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
