Drunk Volkswagen driver and Honda crash on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Friday, 14 June 2019, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 97.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Touran and a Honda HR-V. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (29 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.50‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
