Ford hits a pedestrian at a crossing at Respublikos and M. Valančiaus streets, Panevėžys
On Thursday, 9 January 2020, in the evening at around 17:00, in Panevėžys, on Respublikos street, at the junction with M. Valančiaus street, a Ford Galaxy hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 57-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Ford (25 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
