Scania PM truck and Skoda crash on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Thursday, 5 March 2020, in the evening at 17:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 102.10), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Scania PM registered in Estonia and a Skoda Octavia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 53-year-old driver of the Scania (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
