Drunk Škoda Octavia driver runs off the road on the Mikniškės–Kurmelionys road
On Sunday, 16 August 2020, at night at around 1:00, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Mikniškės–Kurmelionys regional road (kilometre 0.05), a Škoda Octavia ran off the road. One person was injured — the 49-year-old driver of the Škoda (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Škoda (24 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.78‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
