Drug-impaired Opel driver runs off the road on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Friday, 20 August 2021, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 288.70), an Opel Meriva ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Opel (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
