Unlicensed Volkswagen driver and Volkswagen crash on the Klaipėda–Liepoja road
On Monday, 27 June 2022, in the morning at 10:40, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Klaipėda–Liepoja (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 9), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Volkswagen Golf. Three people were injured — the 53-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf (treated as an outpatient), a 19-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Golf (treated as an outpatient) and a 55-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Golf (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. A 19-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Golf was drunk (1.89‰). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
