On Tuesday, 2 May 2023, in the evening at around 17:00, in Alytus, on Pramonės street near No. 23, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Scania R500 registered in Estonia and a Volkswagen Transporter. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Scania (25 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
