Drunk, unlicensed Mitsubishi Pajero driver runs off the road on Šiaulių highway
On Friday, 7 March 2025, at night at 1:13, in Kretingos district municipality, Vydmantų village, on Šiaulių highway, at the junction with Žibalės street, a Mitsubishi Pajero ran off the road. One person was injured — the 60-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
