Drunk BMW driver and Iveco truck crash on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Monday, 22 May 2023, in the evening at 21:20, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 100.15), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW, a Rolfo registered in Georgia and an Iveco Stralis registered in Georgia. One person was injured — a 33-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.92‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
