On Friday, 10 May 2024, in the evening at 17:22, in Palangos city municipality, on the Klaipėda–Liepoja (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 29.30), a Toyota Yaris ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 61-year-old driver of a Scania (40 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
